Welcome to "your home" in Ghana ! We are a german-ghanaian married couple, who reside in Accra, the capital of Ghana. Our holiday- premises is situated at McCarthy Hill, South-West of the city.
Detailed description:
In order to make your stay as comfortable as possible, we offer you following amenities:
1.) SECURITY: The premises is surrounded by a high wall and is c continuously guarded and secured.
2.) AMBIENT: A tropical garden with sun-terrace on 4000 sq. metre house-plot.
3.) LOCAl and INTERNATIONAL KITCHEN: It is possible to offer you varied food-service (eg. breakfast, half Board, daily requirements)
4.) AIRPORT TRANSFER: We offer free transport from the ´Kotoka´International Airport to the house provided a stay of 7 days, otherwise a transport-fee will be charged
5.) SERVICE: We are at your disposal for any inquiry or information at any time during your stay.
Description of the area:
The distance from the house to the Kotoka International Airport is about 18 km. The premises is situated on a hill, called McCarthyHill.
The modern Mall " West hills" is about 8 km drive from the house. Other shopping possibilities and a Taxi-Stand are just around the house.

wunderschöne Ferienwohnung in grosszügigem Garten
Die Apartments enthalten allen notwendigen Komfort und sind sehr gepflegt. Für zusätzliche Wünsche oder auch Anregungen für Ausflüge stehen Birgit und John jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Verfügung. Auch als Afrika-Anfänger habe ich mich hier sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die gemeinsamen Abende im Garten haben wir sehr genossen. Man hat hier die Möglichkeit für sich zu sein mit eigenem Sitzplatz pro Apartment, oder sich auf dem gemeinsamen Sitzplatz den Anderen anzuschliessen.
In diesem Sinne nochmals vielen, vielen Dank für die unvergesslichen Tage und Eure Unterstützung - wir wollen auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!!

Excellent in every respect!!!
In February 2014 it was the first time I visited Ghana. My room was big, bright and very clean and the kitchen as well. A beautiful garden and a roof-deck with an awesome panorama invited to relax. Every morning I was surprised by Birgit´s very tasty, fresh and diversified breakfast which included everything from Ghanaian fruits over pancakes to scrambled eggs. Moreover I had some Ghanaian delicacies for dinner. Furthermore family Siriboe answered every single of my questions. And a plenty of questions rise up if you visit Africa as a person who is just familiar with the western world. The taxi station next to the house is perfect to reach every destination in town and the beach shortly. Taking everything into account the stay at house Siriboe made my holiday the most pleasant and impressive holiday I have ever had and there is no doubt that I will come back again.

We had 10 great nights at the Haus Seriboe holiday apartment.
We (my wife, 2 kids and I) drove from Lagos and arrived the apartment about 9.30pm
The welcome by our hosts was really warm and the couple were helpful all through our stay. Dinner was already waiting for us although we chose to stay at the detached 2 bedroom apartment which was self catering.
The equipment were quite basic but functional. The house was clean. Internet was provided at a fee. The large garden and grounds were a plus as the children had freedom to express themselves with the recreational facilities provided.
The rental cost of the apartment was quite 'friendly' too. In summary we had a great time and do not hesitate to recommend this facility to any client seeking a quiet, clean, homely, affordable and 'not loud' accommodation for short or medium stay in Accra. If I we have to visit again we won't look far.

Schöne Oase in Accra mit herzlichen Gastgebern; Danke!
Gemeinsam mit einem Freund verbrachte ich 12 wunderbare Tage im Haus Siriboe. Es ist eine wunderbare Oase in dieser bunten, quirligen, vollen und staubigen Stadt mit ihren vielen Gesichtern und eine guter Standort, um von dort aus ein Stück authentisches Afrika erleben zu können. Der Empfang am Flughafen war herzlich und mit einer kleinen Autopanne waren wir gleich im wirklichen Afrika angelangt. Nach der Anfahrt über abenteuerliche Straßen tat sich hinter dem großen Tor der große und gepflegte Garten auf. Die Zimmer und Badezimmer sind angenehm groß, es ist ruhig und es ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Das abwechslungsreiche Frühstück mit frischem Obst (Ananas, Mango, Papaya) haben wir meist in der großen gemütlichen Küche eingenommen. Abends haben wir meist in der Stadt gegessen, um die einheimische Küche kennenzulernen und auch einmal selbst gekocht. Alles in allem, es war eine gute Zeit im Haus Siriboe und wir würden es immer wieder gern wählen. Die Tipps der Gastgeber für die Erkundung der Umgebung waren super gut, der wunderschöne Bojo-Beach ist ein Traum und Elmina und Cape Cost sind sehenswert und ein absoluter Gegensatz zu Accra. Danke Birgit, Danke John. Immer wieder gern!!! Man fühlt sich Zuhause in Accra.

Ideal not only for short-terms but also long-stays of cosmopolitan people !
You may fly to Ghana and decide to live in one of the various hotel complexes, having the same continental atmosphere like elsewhere. But if you want to experience the friendly african way of living, then you will find here
THE VERY RIGHT PLACE!
I rented a room with kitchen for several months, for my children and myself. We’d always been welcomed at the airport on time. Even the transfer to the house was an adventure on its own, where we felt at home immediately. We got served nice food and offered wise advises.
The environment allows valuable insight to the ghanaian way of life and lovely face-to-face encounter. The taxi-station positioned in front of the house is useful, the beach accessible within only 20 minutes. But also the outlook of the roof-deck or the hammock in the lovely garden invite to stay at home.
I recommend the house Siriboe to all cosmopolitan people strongly – not only for short-terms, but also for long-stays!

Traumurlaub in Accra
Mein Lebensgefährte und ich haben unsere Weihnachtsferien im Haus Siriboe verbracht und wurden nicht enttäuscht!!
Das Haus mit dem riesen großen Grundstück hat eine tolle Lage; Flughafen, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und die Stadt waren gut für uns erreichbar.
Wir wurden von John und Birgit herzlich empfangen und konnten sofort unsere Zimmer (Coconut Bay Apartment) beziehen. Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet und sehr sauber.
Wir haben außerdem viel Zeit im wunderschönen Garten (am liebsten in der Hängematte) verbracht.
Ein weiteres Highlight war das Essen, welches Birigt für uns gekocht hat. Wir hatten die Möglichkeit auf Wunsch das einheimische Essen kennenzulernen, mussten aber auch auf gewohntes nicht verzichten. Es hat uns besser als in jedem Restaurant geschmeckt!!
John und Birigt waren außerdem super Ansprechpartner was Ghana und die Umgebung angeht, so dass wir den ein oder anderen Geheimtipp bekommen konnten. So haben wir beispielsweise die schönsten Sandtrände entdecken können.
Es hat uns so gut gefallen, dass wir für 2013 gleich wieder gebucht haben!!

das beste Essen in einer wunderschönen Umgebung
Mein Mann und ich haben zwei Wochen in dem Apartment gewohnt und haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt; morgens haben wir das leckere und abwechsunglsreiche Frühstück auf der Terrasse genossen, welches Birgit Siriboe uns gebracht hat. Von dem Grundstück aus kann man vielfältige Unternehmungen machen ( Beach, Accra City etc); ein Taxistand ist nur einige Meter entfernt.
Wir haben jeden Abend ein köstliches Essen serviert bekommen, worauf wir uns jeden Tag gefreut haben und haben es wirklich sehr genossen. Birgit und John geben viele Tipps und man fühlt sich immer herzlich willkommen. Das Grundstück ist wunderschön und sehr ruhig; man kann sehr gut dort entspannen, nach einem trubeligen Tag in der Stadt. Das Haus und das Apartment sind sehr großzügig und bieten viel Platz; alles ist da was man braucht und es ist alles sehr gepflegt.
Wir können Ghana Reisenden das Haus Siriboe nur empfehlen und werden bei unserem nächsten Aufenthalt wieder dort wohnen. Wir hatten dort eine sehr schöne Zeit. Vielen herzlichen Dank an die Gastgeber Birgit und John.

Nette Gastgeber im großzügigen Haus
Wir haben uns im großzügigen Haus immer sehr wohl gefuehlt. Das Haus ist sehr gepflegt. Frau Sirboe ist eine hervorragende Köchin. Der Tag beginnt mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück. Auf Wunsch wird auch abends gekocht. Die Siriboes und die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

A guesthouse where you will feel at home
I stayed 3 nights with Birgit and John and had a great time. They are a really nice and friendly German-Ghanaian couple who help you in any way they can (e.g. with planning your trips etc). When I arrived, Birgit made me really nice Ghanaian vegetarian food - I think it was the first time that I actually liked the Ghanaian food!
The guesthouse consists of four rooms in their main house (that's where I stayed), and an apartment in a seperate guest house. You won't find luxury there, but everything necessary is there and the facilities were all really clean (which was the most important part for me - I had stayed in much more expensive hotels in Ghana before and cleanliness was not always one of their strenghts).
Be aware that there is no A/C (you can't expect this for such a low price). They have ventilators in every room however and I didn't have the feeling that it was too hot or humid.
The location of the guesthouse is not in the usual area where tourists would go. It is located in a normal residential area and the streets around the house are not paved. It may therefore be a bit far from some of the tourist attractions, however if you are interested in getting a taste of the real Accra, where normal people live, I can really recommend to stay a few nights with Birgit and John.
In a nutshell: Really good value for money. (Plus hospitality that you can't really buy with money)

Zu kurzer Traumurlaub
Der Morgen beginnt mit einem reichhaltigen Frühstück auf der Wiese oder Dachterasse oder Zimmer, wie gewünscht. In der Umgebung von Palmen und großen Mangobäumen, und dem ständig leichten Wind und dem Zwitschern der Vögel kommt man sich vor wie auf einer einsamen Inseln. An jeder Stelle im Garten findet man auch ein schattiges Plätzchen, an dem man sich entspannen kann.
Auf Wunsch wird von Frau Siriboe abends Ghanaisches Essen zubereitet das ich nur empfehlen kann.
Eine Woche ist einfach zu kurz!!!!!!!!

ein "zuhause" in Ghana
Ich habe mich mit meiner Begleiterin sehr wohl gefuehlt. Das Ehepaar Siriboe hat viel Wert darauf gelegt, dass Sauberkeit im ihrem Haus und gutes Essen vorrangig sind. Wir sind immer gern nach unseren Ausfluegen "nach hause " gekommen. Das Ehepaar und ihre Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.
